I realized yesterday just how much I was hating my hair–so I got an appointment for 9am this morning and had most of it chopped off!Spontaneity paid off this time at least because it didn’t give me time to talk myself out of it. 🙂
I was loosely basing the style off of Becki of Whippy Cake who I found during last night’s harried Pinterest hair photo search haha.
Unfortunately I had hacked off my bangs in anger about two weeks ago, preventing the front part from really looking right until they grow back–but I am still super happy! The same Becki blogger has a YouTube channel with a bunch of great tutorials for styling her pixie cut which I will be watching when I feel up to trying and find some semi non-toxic styling products. I think I’m going to have to follow her now–not my usual style but she’s super cute and somehow a mom of 4?! So yeah… I’m already thinking of a few changes I’d like her to make when I go back for a trim; but in all I’m super relieved to just have the weight of all that lifeless hair off my shoulders.
Side note: I always go back the my old hometown for haircuts at Tantress Salon; the scene of my first ever short haircut when I was 13! Something about returning “home” to make big hair changes works for me.
Another big plus is that they don’t do keratin straightening treatments there since I’m super sensitive to formaldehyde.
